It’s a video where I show that we TEST every Blue Chirper to make sure it conforms with the National Institutes of Health‘s (NIH) recommendations on Non-Aggressive, safe dB levels:

“We set the audio level of our Blue Chirper right here at the “factory”. Making certain that it is below 70-Decibels (dB). Here’s a video of a test just before packing & shipping. You can clearly see that this Blue Chirper’s maximum volume is 66.5 dB. “A noise level of 65 dB is considered a moderate level, similar to a normal conversation or a noisy office environment. It’s not loud enough to cause immediate hearing damage”, states the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The North American Cricket, Gryllus assimilis, chirps at a level between 60-85 dB. So the Blue Chirper’s audio level is on the LOW side of mid-range and, thus, perfectly legal and not a California Penal Code (CPC) §415 violation.

Testimonials

Frustrated by the unhoused population in his neighborhood, a Santa Monica man has developed a chirping deterrent that he believes bothers transients enough that they will find another place to campout.
"'For my family it been nothing less than a total reinvention of our live with drifters in out car ports. we could not even to do something as simple as being able to park or able to go out to our car with fear. With the Blue Chirper, we now have peace of mind. When we hear the crickets chirping, we know there's a drifter in our carport. We wait for the sound to clear in about a minute or two, and then we are able to get to our car."
